When we were asked to replace the siding on this home, we found that the masonite siding was rotting and the backside of the home was patched in some areas after electrical repairs.
It was discovered when the siding was removed from above the bay windows that no sheathing was used and under the corner trim, the sheathing was rotten because there was no weather barrier or flashing.
We completed the residing with Hardieplank lap siding- Boothbay Blue, HardieTrim and Hardiesoffit- Navajo Beige and HardieShingles (Half round in Khaki Brown). New Hardiewrap was installed, under the old masonite siding where no weather barrier was used. The porch was painted to match the new siding including the spindles. New Half Round Hardieshingles duplicated the look of the old cedar shingles. The house was finished off with new vented Hardiesoffit and fascia installed.
